Taylor’s journey to the top has been anything but easy. He was released by Nottingham Forest as a youngster, and he struggled to make an impact at Barnet and Lincoln. He even had to go on loan to Boston Town and Lincoln Moorlands, two teams that play in the United Counties League, which is the 11th tier of English football.
But Taylor never gave up on his dream. He kept working hard, and he eventually got his break. He signed with Inter Miami in 2022, and he made his MLS debut in March.
On July 23, 2023, Taylor made history. He scored the opening goal in Inter Miami’s 2-1 victory over Cruz Azul, and Messi came off the bench to score the winning goal.
After the game, Taylor said that he was “still in shock” about what had happened. He said that he had never imagined that he would be playing alongside Messi.
